La vie de George Sand, en marionnettes !

I am taking you to Villers-Cotterêts on Saturday 16 January 2027 at 6 pm for a puppet show about George Sand. It runs from 6 pm to 7:15 pm in the auditorium of the Cité internationale de la langue française, which lists it in its programme as « Laissez verdure, discussion avec George S. », part of its Les langues au féminin season.

The company Les Anges au Plafond tells the novel-like life of this pioneering feminist figure, following on from the events marking 150 years since her death. The set is made of stretched canvas at the edge of a forest, and the audience talks with a life-size puppet that is built and taken apart live on stage. The show is by Camille Trouvé, Brice Berthoud and Jonas Coutancier, performed by Camille Trouvé and UssaR, who also wrote the music.

Tickets cost €15 full price and €10 reduced, for students, jobseekers, people on minimum benefits or AAH, and anyone under 26. The show is recommended from age 12. You can buy tickets online, at the Cité box office, or at the auditorium on the evening itself while seats remain. The tourist office mentions a lift and lists card, cheque, holiday vouchers and cash as accepted payment.
