About this event
I am taking you to Villers-Cotterêts, to the Cité internationale de la langue française, housed in the château. Roughly once a month, on a Saturday from 4pm to 5pm, L'heure des p'tiots treats the youngest to an hour of reading. The next dates are Saturdays 14 November and 12 December 2026, then 23 January and 13 February 2027.
The idea is an hour out of time, letting the stories carry you away. The booksellers from L'Arbre à Palabres read their favourite children's books around different themes, announced as: family stories, playing with words, cabaret, keeping warm, and nothing but love. The source does not say which theme goes with which date, which keeps a little surprise.
I like this short, regular format: you can come back month after month and turn reading into a small Saturday ritual.
The session welcomes children from the age of 3 and lasts one hour. It is free, subject to available places, and booking is done on the website of the Cité internationale de la langue française.
