What to expect
About this event
I am taking you to the CMD auditorium in Soissons on Wednesday 14 April 2027 at 8 pm for the Saxback Ensemble and its programme Lumière Noire (Black Light).
The concert marks the release of the ensemble's first album, a step the official presentation describes as decisive in the group's history. The musicians aim to give wind instruments a powerful voice and recorded a repertoire chosen from the styles and periods of classical art music.
Lumière Noire follows the path of light into the shadows it casts. Mixing transcriptions and new works, the programme offers an ambivalent look between shadow and brightness, hope and despair, balance and fragility. The pieces performed are not listed in the sources.
On stage: Louise Marcillat on E-flat and B-flat clarinets, Tom Caudelle on saxhorn, Antonin Pommel on tenor and soprano saxophones, Mathilde Salvi on soprano and alto saxophones, Paul Lamarque on baritone saxophone and Cécilia Lemaitre Sgard on B-flat and bass clarinets.
The concert is organised by the Ville de Soissons and the CMD. Tickets range from €5 to €20 on the official box office.
