What to expect
About this event
I invite you to the salle des fêtes of the Maison des Arts et Loisirs (MAL) in Laon on Tuesday 19 January 2027 at 8.30 pm for "À la recherche de Jacques B.", a play by Nicolas Bonneau.
The description calls it a true road movie in the heart of Picardy, on the trail of a doctor who became a serial killer in the 1980s. It is billed as a gripping, dark and burlesque investigation that explores our fascination with true crime stories and what they reveal about the complexity of human beings, our own dark side and the hidden face of an entire society.
The performance has a running time of 1h10 and is open from age 12. Tickets cost 12 euros at the adult rate and 8 euros at the reduced rate, with online booking on the Ville de Laon ticketing site.
I recommend booking early and, if you are a true crime enthusiast, leaving your own theories at home: the play has its own.
