About this event
I am suggesting a walk in Laon on Wednesday 11 November 2026, following in the footsteps of Suzanne Noël. The association Suzanne Noël, Chirurgienne, Féministe, Laonnoise, known as SNCFL, invites you to join a tour of the places in Laon that marked her life and show how attached she was to her home town.
The meeting point is the cathedral square, place du parvis Gautier de Mortagne, at 14:30. The route is about 2 km long and the walk takes around two hours. The organisers ask you to bring suitable shoes and clothing, and I would say the same, as you will be on your feet all afternoon.
The walk ends at the Saint-Just cemetery with a moment of tribute at the Noël family grave. I like this way of discovering the town through the story of a woman who was born there and stayed close to it.
