What to expect
About this event
Let me take you to the upper town of Laon, to the Maison des Arts et Loisirs on place Aubry. On the mezzanine, in the Bernard Noël space, the CAUE de l'Aisne is presenting « Matériaux et Architectures dans l'Aisne » together with the City of Laon.
The aim is to take time to look at the architecture of our towns and villages, and above all at the materials it is built from. It all starts with photographs of facade details, drawn largely from the 2017 « Détails d'architectures dans l'Aisne » photo competition. The exhibition then steps back to show how building materials relate to the department's resources, whether they come from the ground beneath, the forests or farming.
The show is arranged around four or five themes, with large-format photographs, introductory texts and display cases of materials. Admission is free. Three days remain: Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October from 13:00 to 17:30, then Saturday 31 October from 14:00 to 17:00.
