What to expect
About this event
I am inviting you to the Eden on rue Charles de Gaulle in Hirson on Tuesday 13 April 2027 at 8.30 pm for J'aurai 14 ans toute ma vie (I will be 14 all my life), presented with the Comédie de Picardie.
In 1980, Sheila O'Connor played Pénélope in La Boum, the film that became a cult classic and is shown on French television every year. In this play, which she wrote herself, she asks what to do when you have been 14 for 45 years. She looks back at what lay behind Pénélope's face and at her urge to make films, perhaps, she says, to escape a dysfunctional family.
On stage, the 14-year-old Sheila and today's woman question and confront each other, with humour and emotion according to the presentation, to understand the past, the present and perhaps the future. Philippe Calvario directs, with Sheila O'Connor and Bertille Mirallié.
Tickets cost €10, or €2 for jobseekers, under-18s and students, among others. Information on +33 3 23 58 81 33.
