La Toile du mentor in Hirson

Here is a play that takes a very current subject seriously. On Monday 1 February 2027 at 20:00, the Eden, 80 rue Charles de Gaulle in Hirson, stages « La toile du mentor » (The mentor's web) in a performance open to all, and admission is free.

The story: Lila lives with her mother, who is fascinated by Nolan Mayer, a charismatic personal development guru and online coach. Little by little, the mentor's shadow creeps into their daily life. Pushed to follow his teachings, Lila loses herself. Three years later, her mother seems to have broken free, while Lila has been committed to an institution. When she tries to escape with Nolan's help, her mother realises how deep the hold goes. The play explores the mechanisms of manipulation and cult-like abuse of influence.

It is directed by Didier Mauberty, who co-wrote the text with Caroline Misbach and Madeline Tinnière. The show is presented by the intercommunal council for safety and crime prevention of Buire, Hirson and Saint-Michel. Other performances are reserved for schools, on 1 February at 14:00 and on 2 February at 10:00 and 14:00. The sources give neither the running time nor booking details.
