At Le Trappist in Laon, the chicken burger delivered. And then some. At our dinner on 26 September 2026, we liked the food, the welcome and the comfort of the place. Tata Nadège left with a resounding verdict: 5 moustaches out of 5.

The burger: nobody left on the bench

The chicken? Very good. The bun, sauce and chips? Those too. The whole team played its part. The plate arrived generously filled, with golden chips and sauce on the side. We were asked what we liked: everything. Hard to be clearer than that.

Take a seat. Feel at home.

The team was very welcoming and genuinely friendly. We were comfortable at our table in a pleasant, well-arranged room. Wood, beer posters, a copper-coloured detail at the counter: Le Trappist has its own décor, and it suits the place.

And because Tata Nadège looks beyond the plate: both the dining room and the toilets struck us as very clean. Yes, we notice that too.

The bill, without guesswork

€70 for two burgers, a bottle of wine and a bottle of sparkling water. That was the bill for our dinner on 26 September 2026, drinks included. It is a reference point for this particular meal; menu prices may change.

The verdict: 5 moustaches, with reasons to match

Overall rating: 5 moustaches out of 5 for this visit.
On the plate: we enjoyed the chicken burger, from bun to chips.

One overall rating and concrete observations: no invented sub-scores to fill in boxes.

Getting there, without circling the town hall

Le Trappist is at 13 place du Général-Leclerc, 02000 Laon, opposite the town hall. To call or book a table: 03 23 89 00 79. The number also appears on the menu photographed during our visit. For today’s opening hours, a phone call is more reliable than our crystal ball.

The staircase leads to the upstairs dining room. We observed toilets both downstairs and upstairs during this visit. Full wheelchair accessibility was not assessed.
