About this event
On Friday 19 March 2027 at 8 pm, I am taking you to the CMD auditorium on allée Claude Debussy in Soissons for a jazz concert built around Gershwin.
Marking the centenary of the premiere of Rhapsody in Blue, celebrated in 2024, pianist Paul Lay explores the many sides of a work the presentation calls innovative. With his trio, he replays the 1942 version in his own way, adding three Gershwin pieces arranged and orchestrated for this line-up: Summertime, Nice work if you can get it and It ain't necessarily so.
Paul Lay is on piano, Donald Kontomanou on drums and Clemens Van der Feen on bass. The announced programme pairs the Rhapsody with standards.
