About this event
I invite you to the auditorium of the Cité de la musique et de la danse in Soissons on Tuesday 16 February 2027 at 7 pm for "Les Cuivres du mini ogre".
It is a musical and educational tale for discovering the brass of the brass band and the symphony orchestra, following the coming-of-age story of an ogre "when he was little", in a 100% English musical programme. The story reveals the childhood of an ogre who, astonishingly, is a fabulous music lover. The description promises a whole troop of instruments with sounds polished like a diamond, to make the heavens ring and decide the weather down on earth, where humans bustle about.
On stage are the brass ensemble of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the narrator Amandine Dewasmes. The text is by Édouard Signolet, with musical concept and arrangements by David Guerrier, on music by Holst, Elgar, Britten and Vaughan-Williams, among others.
