I am inviting you to Soissons, to 7 rue Jean de Dormans, on Tuesday 26 January 2027 at 20:00, for Bertrand Belin’s concert.
The presentation opens with an image: a bridge, or a footbridge for the more timid. It links the shore of “La Comédie”, the song that closes Tambour Vision on a deeply existential note, with that of “L’Inconnu en personne”, which cultivates a synthetic inner life that only asks to be shared. A “state of our coexistences” that refuses hasty judgements. Then the tempo quickens, the strings rise gracefully, and the singer’s voice takes centre stage.
At the heart of the programme is Watt, whose dramaturgy, both narrative and musical, shows a remarkable suppleness. Bertrand Belin composed and recorded it in a single movement, alongside Thibaut Frisoni. The presentation calls it one of his finest constructions, though not the most massive: contradiction and fault lines are always part of it.
