What to expect
About this event
Here is an exhibition where the curators did not get the final word. At the Musée des Beaux-Arts Antoine-Lécuyer, 28 rue Antoine Lécuyer in Saint-Quentin, the town’s participatory bodies have taken over the building.
The neighbourhood councils, together with the councils for Young People, Seniors, the Environment and Sustainable Development, Community Associations and Disability, were invited to take a fresh look at the collection. With input from visitors, they picked from the storerooms the works that meant most to them. The result is “Mon œuvre préférée”, a participatory show that turns local residents into partners in bringing the collection to light. To me it is a charming reminder that a museum also belongs to the people who walk through its doors.
The exhibition runs until 15 November 2026. The museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 14:00 to 18:00, also from 10:30 to 12:30 on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and on Sundays from 14:30 to 17:30. It does not open on Mondays or on 1 and 11 November. Admission is 5 €, or 2.50 € reduced, exhibition included. Information on 03 23 06 93 98.
