I suggest rounding off this year’s nature walks in the Saint-Quentin area with a morning at the Marais d’Isle on Sunday 1 November 2026.
In 2026 the guides of the Parc d’Isle have been showing visitors three sites across the conurbation: the Isle Sauvage within the Parc d’Isle, the Marais d’Isle and the sources of the Somme. The theme running through the year is “Wetlands here and elsewhere”. This last date of the season returns to the Marais d’Isle, with a promise to take you off the beaten track. I enjoy guided walks that teach you to look again at a landscape you think you know: you usually come home with a few new bird names, and not the rude kind.
The meeting point is the Maison du Parc, avenue Léo Lagrange in Saint-Quentin, from 10:30 to 12:00. The walk is free, with registration on 03 23 05 06 50 or by email at parc.isle@casq.fr.
The organisers say it themselves: do not forget your binoculars, and wear good shoes.
