L'abus d'alcool est dangereux pour la santé, à consommer avec modération. (French legal notice. In plain English: alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health; please drink responsibly.)
Every year it is the same story. You hear about Beaujolais Nouveau on the radio, you think "there must be something on in the village", and you find out far too late that bookings closed weeks ago. From the neighbour, of course. The one who always knows everything before you do.
This year, the neighbour is me. I have gone through everything announced in the Aisne, and I am warning you now: you will need to book early.
The background, for anyone who missed the earlier episodes? Every year, on a Thursday in November, a bottle of red wine makes the news. In Lyon, the barrels are tapped at midnight; elsewhere, wine shops switch on a yellow neon sign. And here, in village halls, volunteers set out the tables, the cold meats and the sound system. Picture it: a village hall, neighbours catching up, a well-filled plate. That is the side of the occasion I like to write about: the neighbours, the plate, the village hall. The rest, everyone handles in moderation, and Tata keeps an eye on it.
This year, the date falls on Thursday 19 November. I tell you what the organiser has confirmed, what only a newspaper listing says, and how to check before you book. Yes, I sort things. I am fussy like that; you will get used to it.

Beaujolais Nouveau: what exactly is it?
So what is a "nouveau" Beaujolais, exactly? I can see you nodding as if you knew. It is a primeur wine: it goes on sale very soon after the grape harvest. According to INAO, the French public body that manages appellations, Beaujolais Nouveau (or "primeur") is a wine of the Beaujolais PDO (AOP), made from the Gamay grape, and it may be offered to consumers from the third Thursday of November. The Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages appellations may carry this label.
And why a Thursday, you ask, with that innocent little look? Because the date is fixed: the third Thursday of November. Inter Beaujolais, the trade body for Beaujolais wines, notes that for 75 years this Thursday has gone hand in hand with Beaujolais Nouveau. In 2026, it is Thursday 19 November. The festivities run from 19 to 22 November, with the barrels tapped at midnight on place des Terreaux in Lyon, on the night of 18 to 19 November, and the Sarmentelles festival in Beaujeu from 18 to 22 November.
As for the glass, the Saint-Quentin wine shop Chai N°5 sums it up like this: a black Gamay grape with white juice, carbonic maceration giving a fruity, light wine, served at room temperature. I will trust you with the rest. For Tata, the point is the village parties and the meals with the neighbours.
Evenings confirmed by their organisers
Crouy, Thursday 19 November: the Crouy En Fêtes evening
This is the only evening in the Aisne I found on release day itself with an official page to back it up. Crouy En Fêtes invites residents and visitors to the salle Lewis Price, 32 bis avenue du Général Patton, on Thursday 19 November 2026 at 18:00. Booking is through Crouy town hall, 1 place de la Mairie, on 03 23 53 14 12.
The price and the menu have not been published. Ask when you book: it costs nothing and avoids surprises. Crouy is a few minutes from Soissons, handy for an evening out after work.
Rozières-sur-Crise, Friday 20 November: country buffet in a marquee
The village posted the announcement on its official notice board on 23 October: the Rozécumes Loisirs village committee meets on Friday 20 November 2026 from 19:00, place de la Mairie, in a marquee, around a country buffet.
Let us talk money, since nobody else dares: €10 per adult, €5 per child aged 5 to 12, €15 for people from outside the village. Places are limited and registration is required, by email to rozecumes@gmail.com or on 06 66 31 32 67. A marquee, in November, in the Aisne. I say nothing. I simply suggest an extra jumper, and a scarf. And thick socks. Sorry, I cannot help myself.
Other evenings listed in the local press (to be confirmed)
These evenings I only know from the local press. And Tata does not sign anything blindfolded: I found no organiser's page to confirm them. Each one is therefore to be confirmed with the organiser, ideally by phone, before you set the evening aside. Prices, times and deadlines are those of the article quoted, checked on 02/11/2026.

Did you notice? No, of course not. Many of these evenings fall on Saturday 21, and several close bookings as early as 10 or 11 November. In other words, soon. In other words, before you have even thought about it. If a date appeals to you, check it with the organiser before the booking deadline.
At the wine shop: pre-ordering in Saint-Quentin
Would you rather stay warm at home, slippers on? I will not hold it against you. Chai N°5, a wine shop at 12 rue de Mulhouse in Saint-Quentin, is taking pre-orders for Beaujolais Nouveau and 2026 primeur wines. Bottles are delivered or ready to collect on Thursday 19 November. The shop is open on Monday from 14:00 to 18:30, Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 19:30, Saturday from 9:30 to 19:00 and Sunday from 9:30 to 12:30. Phone: 03 23 62 21 15.
Elsewhere, Inter Beaujolais counts some 700 wine shops in France with a yellow "rendez-vous Beaujolais" neon sign in the window. I could not find the list for the Aisne, and believe me, I looked. If you spot one, the simplest thing is to walk in and ask what is planned on the 19th.
How to find an evening near you
Your village is not in my tables? That does not mean it is doing nothing; it may just not have written it down yet. Here is Tata's method:
- Ask the town hall (mairie). Beaujolais evenings in the Aisne are mostly run by village committees, and the town hall often takes the bookings. One phone call is enough.
- Check your village's notice board (posters, village newsletter, the town hall's app): that is where the Rozières-sur-Crise announcement appeared.
- Look at the official events map from Inter Beaujolais, rendez-vous.beaujolais.com, which lists more than 500 events before 19 November. The "Bistrots Beaujolais" label also flags partner venues there.
- Drop in at your local wine shop and look for the yellow "rendez-vous Beaujolais" neon sign.
- Follow the NLocale listings: dated outings are in this weekend in the Aisne and new additions in what's new. For a table, see where to eat and drink.
Celebrate without overdoing it
Here, Tata stops joking. A Beaujolais evening is first and foremost an evening with the neighbours, with a well-filled plate. A few simple pointers, which I will repeat as often as necessary:
- Plan the journey home before the first glass: a driver who does not drink, a shared ride, a taxi, or an evening within walking distance.
- At the wheel in France, the limit is 0.5 g of alcohol per litre of blood, and 0.2 g/l for probationary licences, as Service-Public.fr points out.
- Alternate with water, and eat: most evenings in the Aisne are dinners, which is just as well.
- Minors must not drink alcohol: selling or offering alcohol to under-18s is prohibited, as MILDECA, the French interministerial mission on addictions, reminds us.
L'abus d'alcool est dangereux pour la santé, à consommer avec modération. (Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health; please drink responsibly.)
My checklist
- When? Thursday 19 November 2026, the third Thursday of November.
- Where? Crouy (19/11, 18:00) and Rozières-sur-Crise (20/11, 19:00), confirmed by the organiser or the village. Evenings found in the local press are to be confirmed with the organiser.
- How much? €10 per adult in Rozières-sur-Crise (€5 for ages 5 to 12, €15 for non-residents); price not published in Crouy.
- Booking? Yes: through the town hall for Crouy, registration required for Rozières-sur-Crise.
- At home? Pre-order from Chai N°5 in Saint-Quentin, collected or delivered on the 19th.
- Getting home? Sort it out before you leave.
One more note in the margin
I update this page as soon as an organiser confirms another date in the Aisne. I would rather be slow than wrong. Are you organising a Beaujolais evening in your village? Send me the official page or poster, with the time, the place and the price: I will add it once checked. You keep the area alive; Tata Nadège spreads the word. And if you are looking for something else to do those days, it is all in this weekend in the Aisne.
