SUMMARY:Germinal au théâtre à Hirson
DESCRIPTION:Germinal, the Compagnie Climax adaptation of Émile Zola's novel that blends theatre and film, is on Saturday 30 January 2027 at 8:30 pm at the Eden, 80 rue Charles de Gaulle in Hirson, with tickets at €10 and €2.\nHere is a Germinal with a difference, at the Eden in Hirson on Saturday 30 January 2027 at 8:30 pm.\n\nPierre Lamotte's adaptation of Émile Zola's masterpiece for the Compagnie Climax fuses theatre and cinema. Three actors on stage interact with around thirty filmed or drawn characters, projected onto moving screens. Pierre Lamotte handles the adaptation, the staging and the film work himself.\n\nThe official presentation stresses how current the novel still feels, dealing with social relations, the condition of women, globalisation and coal extraction, which it notes is still expanding. A good reason to look at the Maheu family again with today's eyes.\n\nTickets are €10, or €2 for groups that include job seekers, under-18s and students. For bookings or questions, the number given is +33 3 23 58 81 33. The listing does not state the running time, so I will not guess.\nDate: Saturday 30 January 2027 at 8:30 pm. Venue: Eden, 80 rue Charles de Gaulle, 02500 Hirson. Prices: €10 and €2 (€2 notably for job seekers, under-18s and students). Information and bookings: +33 3 23 58 81 33. Company: Climax.\nFair warning: that evening there will be three actors on stage and some thirty characters on screen, which is more people than I get in my kitchen on a holiday. I love the idea of Zola talking back to filmed and drawn images. My only advice is to phone the Eden for your seat, because the mine waits for no one.\nGerminal at the Eden in Hirson: theatre meets film, Jan 2027\nGerminal after Zola by Compagnie Climax, blending theatre and film, on Saturday 30 January 2027 at 8:30 pm at the Eden in Hirson.
